This is a small group specialist course that runs a wait list when the available positions are taken for any positions that may become available through withdrawals. Do not apply unless you can be available for the course dates and duration and can afford the course fee that must be paid in full with in seven days of being accepted for course joining as well as be able to pay for your domestic and international airfares, that must be paid for in full on confirmation.

Course cut-off date for course to be confirmed or cancelledThe course will be confirmed when the available positions are taken, or on the course applications cut-off date of July 26th 2024. If the required small group specialist course numbers are not confirmed the course will be re-scheduled or cancelled for 2024.
Important considerations prior to course confirm / cancel cut-off dateThere is no CPO employment offers connected to this specialist course completion. We are not recruiters we are specialist training providers.
Do not apply/course confirm unless you are 100% certain you will attend. Procrastinators or anyone that will not attend if accepted do not apply as applicants that apply are accepted and do not attend will not be accepted for any Todd Group course they may apply for in the future.
If you are not a responsible mature realist then CPP is not for you. Any applicants that apply are accepted and do not complete their joining conditions will not be accepted for course joining of any other Todd Group courses they may apply for in the future. New applicants and Todd Group course confirming current members must be definite attendees. Do not make flight reservations, confirm leave or undertake any other personal plans related to course attendance that can’t be cancelled until receiving confirmation of the course being conducted after the course cut-off date. Post application on course joining acceptance applicants have 7 days to make their course fee payment or be removed from the course accepted applicants nominal roll. Being removed from the course nominal roll will prevent any future Todd Group training/courses   acceptance.  This CPP course requires considerable attention to detail, and for all attendees to be able to conduct themselves with confidence individually and as part of a small protective team. The Todd Group do not offer employment on course completion. We are primarily professional training providers with a 96 year history of excellence in military CQC, military self-defence, and defensive tactics and close personal protection.
Course joining requirementsComplete and return your on-line course application/confirmation and on being accepted for course joining, ensure you action all requirements as requested including course fees payment within seven days after  being accepted for course joining or you will be removed from the course nominal roll.
Course joining special requirementsAll new applicants including Todd Group current proponents course confirming must be committed to attending the applied for course and accept all orders and instructions after being accepted for course joining and  on course. The course fee is non-transferable non-refundable. All attendees are required to be responsible, quietly confident exponents and respect the chain of command and course attendance conditions, rules and regulations at all times. You must be able to train and partake in the training exercises as a responsible individual and respectful course/detail member.
Course application / joining conditionsCourse applications must be completed factually and honestly. Get your course application in as early as possible as the course cut-off date for confirming or cancelling courses depends on having required attending numbers by the cut-off date for the course to be conducted. No late applications accepted and once a course is cancelled it cannot be rescheduled in the same year.
Course confirmation Todd Group membersComplete your course confirmation as early as possible. Make sure your membership status is current and that you have complied with all your membership requirements. No late course confirmations accepted and if a course is cancelled it will not be conducted in the same year.
Course joining confirmation approval Todd Group membersOn receiving your course confirmation approval, pay your course fee and provide any other required information. Your course fee must be paid on course joining confirmation or within seven days of being accepted  for course joining for non-members. Current Todd Group members in good standing can make arrangements with Todd Group HQ to pay their course fee in instalments with the final instalment being paid before the course commencement.
Course joining applications new exponentsAfter submitting your on-line applications, if requested provide any additional required information. After your application has been processed you will receive your course joining acceptance or be declined if you do not meet the course joining requirements.
Course joining acceptance new applicantsOn acceptance within seven days make payment of your full course fee. Full fee refunds will be provided for any courses cancelled after the cut-off date. Payment of course fees must be paid within seven days of receiving course joining acceptance.
Course official forms submission / processingOn receiving your course joining official forms they will be checked and processed. Signing your forms can be by electronic signature or typed text. You will be advised of your application being accepted or declined by email as soon as processed.
Course additional application required material / informationYou may be asked for additional application support information including a scanned copy of your current passport picture page and current driver’s license, criminal history record check or other information.
Course acceptance requirementsPay course fees, read all provided information and promptly action any requests or requirements. All attendees must be able to drive confidently  and have a car drivers licence.
All accepted applicants will receive a code of conduct contract that they must electronically fill out and email return.

Course participationThis is a volunteer course of instruction where all accepted attendees must be responsible mature participants of integrity that conduct themselves accordingly in all theory and practical training as well as all training exercises.
Safety is paramount and as such all attendees must be safety conscious at all times.
Attendees must complete all training and partake in all training exercises with integrity responsibility and commitment to be presented with course completion certificates.
No filming or photographing of the course PowerPoint presentation is permitted and all attendees must respect the chain of command and accept all instructor’s orders and instructions. Any disrespect for the chain of command will not be tolerated.
Course code of conductAll attendees must conduct themselves in a mature, responsible manner at all times on and off course.
Abide by your code of conduct contract at all times.
Training is a privilege not a right and requires high integrity and responsible behaviour at all times.
Respect the chain of command; be respectful to everyone at all times. Train for self-improvement abide by orders and instructions, always adhering to safety practices. Never cause the Todd Group respected name to be brought into disrepute. Make sure you read and abide by application/declaration conditions/code of conduct contract and provided behaviour information in your accepted applicants information email. Remember that close personal protection is about being security conscious. Anyone considering undertaking this close protection course to impress others or anyone that is egotistical or confrontational should not apply.
You must commit to all training and training exercises duties on course, conducting yourself as a respectful responsible committed course member. The course chief instructor has full command of the course and training exercises at all times and his and the instructing staffs orders and instructions must be obeyed at all times.
Primary training objectives briefThe primary training objective of this basic level specialist close personal protection intensive course of instruction is to ensure that those who participate in the course do so  with maturity and commitment to completing all the course modules and training exercises  achieving all the  required skills to work in the civilian close protection industry. This course provides New Zealand based CPP  training and training exercises. This course will also provide important tactics and skills for those attending this course to learn how to  protect themselves, their family friends or staff at home and during overseas travel.
Course fees new exponentsNon-current Todd Group members $5000.00 NZD. This fee includes all instruction including practical training and training exercises. It also includes all on course transport, land, sea and rail exercises driving and, shooting phases. Accommodation at Camp Todd from the day before the course starts until the course departs for Thailand. Accommodation at the Thailand  group stay hotel is not included in the course fee and must be paid to the hotel on checking in or checking out dependent on the hotel requirements. Airfares and airport transfers are not included in the course fee. The Todd Group will make all attendees group travel flights reservations with our corporate travel agent as the course needs to be a group booking. Full flights reservations requirements will be sorted on an individual attendee basis to ensure they meet the specific requirements.

Course laundry informationAttendees must take care of their own laundry requirements. There are laundries close to the hotel in Thailand and a washing machine for self-use at Camp Todd.

Course training kit requirementsUnlike CQC courses of instruction where individuals may require uniforms/protectors etc. The CPP course requires nothing more than comfortable training and tidy casual  attire that blends and does not stand out. Clothing and footwear that are comfortable for the long hours in the lecture room on practical training and on training exercises.
Accepted applicants will be provided with full dress and kit requirements.
Course personal kit requirementsPersonal hygiene and appearance is very important in close personal protection and as such attendees  should have suitable toiletries and grooming kit, personal first-aid kit. All accepted applicants will receive a full kit list.
Privacy confidentiality and securityThe Todd Group is a security conscious specialist training provider and all exponents on courses are required to abide by their application agreements. There will be a security brief conducted at Camp Todd  immediately prior to the commencement of the course. Privacy and confidentiality in relation to the Todd group, staff, course facilitators and all attendees is mandatory. All attendees must be security conscious and not disclose any Todd Group or course information including not releasing  Todd Group intellectual property to any individual organisation without written consent. Loose lips sink ships and this is very applicable to close personal protection.

Course dates and locations.
Course arrival Dunedin for Camp Todd NZ training component Saturday September 14th.
Course start date Camp Todd Saturday  September 14, 13.00 hours.
Days 1 to 9 at Camp Todd September 14-22.
Days 10 to 11 September 23 and 24 group travel New Zealand to Thailand and pre-course R&R.
Days 12 to 20 Thailand course training continued and training exercises, September 25 to October 3.
Course finish October 3 and departure evening of October 3 or later.
Your flights reservations will be made for you as part of the course group reservations. The Todd Group has a 96 year history of providing self-protective and protective training of others as well as diplomatic  close protection training and military elite and regular forces  close combat training.
Todd Group close personal protection courses are intensive and require considerable commitment to the long and varied hours on course. The course fees have been set at a reasonable rate for an International  extensive intensive specialist course of instruction. For many this will be a considerable expense and applicants should think carefully before applying in relation to their objectives and potential opportunities post course completion. The reality is if you intend to work in the close protection field you require the best training possible and need to be trained confident and competent in order to be able to apply for available positions.
Today we train not only close personal protection specialists but also corporate’s and global travellers wanting to learn such skills to protect themselves, their families and associates.
The course provides all the specialist skills and the basic level description is simply because of the course duration. The courses are small group specialist intensive courses that require a mature, responsible professional attitude and a fully committed sensible demeanour with attention to detail and a willingness to partake in practical training exercises as a valuable part of a small specialist group. Attendees also need to be able to work as individuals committing to the required tasks discreetly and with commitment. Attendees learn a wealth of current tactically correct knowledge and must be able to plan multitask and conduct themselves in a professional manner to negate the adverse effects of information overload and long training hours. Many former attendees of Todd Group close personal protection courses of instruction have gone on to work in lucrative protective employment including civilian and Government services close protection. This course provides attendees with training and training exercises in both New Zealand and Thailand and as such is a better experience that conducting an entire course in one’s home country or in just an English-speaking country. Attendees must know the meaning of loyalty with honour and not have hidden agendas or motives that are not honourable.
